Bihar elections: BJP candidate from Sitamarhi Sunil Kumar Pintu declared assets worth over ₹21 crore

As candidates from various parties filed their nomination papers for the Bihar Assembly elections, details of their declared assets have started making headlines. Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate from Sitamarhi, Sunil Kumar Pintu, has jointly declared assets worth more than Rs 21 crore with his wife Manju Devi.

According to his election affidavit, these property valuations are based on financial records till March 31, 2025.

Pintu’s property

Pintu has declared personal assets worth ₹14.84 crore, which include movable assets worth ₹1.45 crore and immovable assets worth ₹13.39 crore. His movable assets included:

• Three vehicles – two Scorpios and a Fortuner – priced at ₹74.49 lakh
• The weight of gold jewelery is 202 grams and the weight of silver utensils is 1,809 grams.
• ₹7.85 lakh deposited in bank
• National Savings Certificate, LIC Investment and Personal Loan around ₹19 lakh

Among his immovable properties, Pintu owns two residential buildings on Dumra Road and Old Exchange Road in Sitamarhi, worth a total of ₹5.35 crore. He has also inherited about six acres of land in Bhagwatipur Amaghatta, which is currently worth ₹5.15 crore. Additionally, he owns 10,887 square feet of non-agricultural land worth approximately ₹51 lakh.

Wife also declared assets worth crores

Pintu’s wife Manju Devi has declared assets worth ₹6.18 crore, which includes movable assets worth ₹54 lakh and immovable assets worth ₹5.64 crore. His property portfolio includes:

• The price of a residential apartment in Shastri Nagar, Patna is ₹1.15 crore
• The price of a commercial building in Sitamarhi is ₹4.07 crore
• The total value of agricultural and non-agricultural land is ₹82 lakh

Sunil Kumar Pintu and his wife’s declaration of assets has made them among the more financially prominent candidates in the ongoing elections in Bihar.
