This development marks a significant political change in the Seemanchal region ahead of the elections.
Announcing his decision on Thursday, October 16, Alam said he was attracted by Jan Suraj’s vision of transforming Bihar, according to news agency PTI.
He said, “I salute Jan Suraj, who has pledged to transform Bihar under the vision of founder Prashant Kishore.”
Alam, son of veteran Seemanchal RJD leader late Taslim Uddin, said Kishor’s joining the party will help him continue his father’s legacy of advocating for the marginalized.
Alam explained that he had been “feeling suffocated” within his former party for a long time, saying, “There was the same old ‘dal-chutney’,” reflecting his frustration with the lack of innovation and progress.
