Patna, Nov 14 (IANS) The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) on Friday registered a decisive victory in Bihar with Muzaffarpur district being one of the strongest performing areas.
Of the 10 assembly seats in the district, the NDA has secured nine, losing only the Paru seat to the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD).
With this strong mandate across the state, the NDA led by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is all set to form the government in Bihar with a clear and comfortable majority.
For NDA – BJP, Janata Dal-United, Lok Janshakti Party-Ram Vilas and Rashtriya Lok Morcha contested in Muzaffarpur and defeated RJD, Congress, Vikassheel Insaan Party (VIP) and CPI-ML in this election battle.
In Muzaffarpur district –
Aurai Assembly Constituency: Aurai is one of the major constituencies of Muzaffarpur, where BJP’s Rama Nishad won the electoral battle against VIP’s Bhogendra Sahni by a margin of 57,206 votes.
Sakra seat: JDU’s Aditya Kumar defeated Congress’s Umesh Kumar Ram by a margin of more than 15,000 votes.
Kurhani seat: BJP’s Kedar Prasad Gupta defeated RJD’s Sunil Kumar Suman by a margin of more than 9,000 votes.
Kanti seat: JD-U’s Ajit Kumar won the electoral battle against RJD’s Mohammad Israel Mansoori by a margin of 25,795 votes.
Baruraj seat: After 26 rounds of counting, BJP’s Arun Kumar Singh defeated VIP’s Rakesh Kumar by a margin of 29,052 votes.
Paru seat: RJD’s Shankar Prasad defeated Rashtriya Lok Morcha’s Madan Chaudhary by a margin of 28,827 votes.
Meenapur seat: JD-U’s Ajay Kumar won the electoral battle against RJD’s Rajeev Kumar after 25 rounds. The victory margin was 34,238 votes.
Bochahan seat: Baby Kumari has won the election contest by a margin of more than 20,000 votes. He has defeated RJD’s Amar Kumar Paswan.
Gaighat seat: After 30 rounds of counting, JDU’s Komal Singh won the contest against RJD’s Niranjan Rai. The victory margin was 23,417 votes.
Now all eyes are on Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and the top leadership of BJP.
