Haveri (Karnataka), Nov 14 (IANS) Former Karnataka Chief Minister and MP Basavaraj Bommai on Friday said Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s popularity has also been confirmed through the Bihar Assembly results declared the day after the Lok Sabha elections, adding that “Congress leaders thought that people would vote for them but they have been proved wrong.”
Former Chief Minister Bommai said, “Even in Maharashtra, Haryana and Bihar, Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s popularity has been clearly established. Congress leaders thought that everyone stood with him, but this has been proved false.”
Speaking to reporters, the former chief minister said, “There was a lot of discussion in Bihar about caste politics and equations. Congress leaders believed that all communities were with them, but it has been proved wrong. Almost 80 per cent of the SC-ST communities have voted for the BJP. The backward class and SC-ST communities have supported the BJP. Because the Congress went too far in appeasement politics, the votes of the minorities got united against them. Big decisions have to be taken in the coming days.” This has become a big blessing for the development of the nation.”
Responding to a question on allegations of “vote theft” by Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi, Bommai said: “Vote theft – who did it? Where is the proof? Even those who lost votes have not made such allegations. Who actually stole the votes? Rahul Gandhi himself has written letters demanding voter list purification in all states. If FIRs are filed, purification will happen. Congress tried to turn lies into truth by repeating it again and again. People The people of Bihar have shown that they are more intelligent than the leaders.
On what lesson the Bihar election results hold for the Karnataka BJP unit, he said, “If they all unite and fight with ‘pro-people movements’ against the corrupt and destructive Congress government in the state, the BJP will definitely win majority in the next state assembly elections.”
Responding to Congress leaders’ allegations of linking the election to the Delhi bomb blast during the polling period, Bommai said, “The blast has nothing to do with the election. Congress does politics on everything. People are intelligent.”
Responding to a question about the clashes in Mudhol over sugarcane price fixing, he said, “The Congress-led state government did not show the same interest in Mudhol as it had shown in Belagavi. The state government is directly responsible for this. If it had handled the situation at the right time, the incident could have been avoided. Let there be an investigation. The state government should compensate the innocent farmers for the loss of their sugarcane. This is an irresponsible government.” Is.”
Hitting back at Karnataka Forest Minister Ishwar Khandre’s allegations of blaming the BJP for the Mudhol incident, Bommai said, “What does Khandre know? How is the BJP responsible for this? The farmers sitting in protest in the districts have turned against the Congress-led state government. If he cannot see this, it is unfortunate.”
