Bihar CM Nitish Kumar sets December 31 deadline for vacancy details, promises entire 2026 job calendar in January

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has directed all government departments in the state to submit details of vacancies by December 31, 2025, to speed up the process of providing government jobs, a promise the JDU leader had made while contesting the Bihar elections.

Writing in Hindi on X (formerly Twitter), Kumar said that the Bihar government has provided 50 lakh jobs to the youth of the state between 2020 and 2025.

According to the CM, all administrative departments of Bihar, Divisional Commissioners, offices under Police Headquarters and District Magistrates have been instructed to ensure that they compulsorily submit applications related to the vacancy to the General Administration Department by December 31, 2025.

After this, the General Administration Department will quickly scrutinize the applications received and forward them to the concerned Appointment Commission.

Complete Bihar Job Calendar 2026 in January

The NDA leader also directed all appointment commissions and selection agencies to publish the full year calendar for appointments in January 2026.

The calendar should “clearly” mention the date of advertisement publication, temporary period for conducting the examination, date of final result publication as well as other necessary information.

Kumar said he directed officials to ensure that under no circumstances should more than one year elapse from the first publication of the advertisement to the final result – irrespective of the number of phases of the examinations.
