Patna, Nov 1 (IANS) The investigation into the murder of Dularchand Yadav in Mokama has been intensified as the Bihar Police Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has formally taken charge of the case.
The investigation is being monitored by CID DIG Jayant Kant, who himself visited the crime scene and inspected all aspects.
On Saturday, several police teams reached Basavan Chak – where the incident took place.
CID officials along with FSL scientists conducted scientific investigation of the entire area.
Sources said that many important clues have been found, which can give a new turn to the investigation.
Investigators also inspected the damaged vehicles involved in the incident.
Forensic samples have been collected from these vehicles.
Police are analyzing damage patterns, stone marks and other traces to identify the attackers.
During inspection of the crime scene at Mokama Tal, investigators recovered stones commonly used on railway tracks.
Officials said such stones are not found naturally in Mokama Tal – raising questions of possible foul play. Samples have been sent to the lab.
According to sources, the convoy was targeted with these stones.
Now the main question is whether these stones were already brought there intentionally? If yes, then it was not a mere skirmish but a planned attack.
CID teams have interrogated villagers and eyewitnesses.
CCTV footage and mobile location data of the surrounding areas are also being analyzed.
Statements are being collected on any suspicious activity before or after the incident.
Dularchand Yadav, who was campaigning with Jan Suraj candidate Piyush Priyadarshi, was attacked in Mokama Tal area on Thursday.
His death has become a big political issue in Bihar.
Initial claims say that Dularchand Yadav was killed by bullet injury. He was also shot in the leg, but this was not the cause of his death.
The postmortem report revealed that the fatal injury was caused by a vehicle running over his chest, resulting in multiple fractures and a punctured lung.
In Barh, in the presence of the magistrate, a panel of three doctors conducted the post-mortem of the body for about two hours.
Since the CID is now directly handling the case, it is expected that the investigation will soon unearth the entire conspiracy – and those responsible.
