1 , 5Sasaram | Sasaram is a major assembly constituency in Rohtas district of Bihar, which holds considerable political importance and comes under the Sasaram Lok Sabha constituency. In the 2020 Bihar Assembly election, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) candidate Rajesh Kumar Gupta won the seat by defeating Ashok Kumar of Janata Dal (United) by 26,423 votes. As the 2025 elections approach, the competition is expected to intensify in Sasaram, with Snehlata Kushwaha, wife of Rashtriya Lok Morcha (RLM) chief Upendra Kushwaha, and RJD’s Satyendra Shah emerging as key contenders. 2 , 5Gopalganj Gopalganj, a major constituency in the Gopalganj district of Bihar and part of the Gopalganj Lok Sabha seat, holds strong political significance. In the 2022 bypolls – the first after the JD(U)-BJP split – the BJP retained the seat as Kusum Devi, widow of former minister and four-time MLA Subhash Singh, defeated RJD’s Mohan Prasad Gupta by 1,794 votes. Ahead of the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections, prominent candidates include Ansh Salam (AIMIM), Om Prakash Garg (Congress), Dr. Brij Kishore Gupta (AAP), Subash Singh (BJP), and Dr. Shashi Shekhar Sinha. 3 , 5Ramnagar Ramnagar, a major assembly constituency in West Champaran district of Bihar, holds political importance and is represented by the BJP. In the 2020 Bihar Assembly election, Bhagirathi Devi of BJP won the seat by defeating Rajesh Ram of Indian National Congress (INC) by 15,796 votes. As the 2025 assembly elections approach, the major contenders include RJD’s Subodh Paswan and BJP’s Nand Kishore Ram. In the 2015 elections, Bhagirathi Devi was also victorious, defeating Congress’s Purnamasi Ram by a margin of 17,988 votes.
4 , 5Raghopur | Raghopur, a major assembly constituency in Bihar’s Vaishali district, falls under the Hajipur Lok Sabha constituency and is a RJD stronghold. In the 2020 Bihar Assembly elections, RJD’s Tejashwi Prasad Yadav retained the seat by defeating BJP’s Satish Kumar by a margin of 38,174 votes. Both the leaders are set to contest the 2025 assembly elections again, with Yadav once again representing the RJD and Kumar contesting from the BJP. Notably, Tejashwi Yadav had defeated Satish Kumar by 22,733 votes in the 2015 elections, thereby strengthening his hold on the constituency.
5 , 5Alinagar | Alinagar, a key assembly constituency in Bihar’s Darbhanga district, falls under the Darbhanga Lok Sabha constituency and has seen close contests in recent years. In the 2020 Bihar Assembly elections, Vikassheel Insaan Party (VIP)’s Mishri Lal Yadav won the seat by defeating RJD’s Vinod Mishra by a slim margin of 3,101 votes. As the 2025 assembly elections approach, the constituency is expected to see an interesting fight between RJD’s Vinod Mishra and BJP’s 25-year-old famous folk singer Maithili Thakur.
