On 19 October, the party released a third list of six more candidates, taking the total number of Congress candidates to 59.
Earlier, Congress state president Rajesh Ram accused RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav of ‘changing his stand’ and ‘weakening’ the alliance.
According to a Hindustan Times report, Ram said, “He came to the AICC meeting with KC Venugopal as a friendly ally, but his subsequent actions indicate that he is working against the agreement.” He further alleged that Tejashwi Yadav was weakening Dalit representation within the alliance.
Reports suggest that in an attempt to resolve the seat-sharing issue, the Congress hinted to RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav that contesting on some seats could weaken the alliance’s story of unity.
Voting for 243 seat Bihar Assembly Voting will be held in two phases on November 6 and November 11, while the counting of votes is to take place on November 14.
