Ahmedabad, Nov 21 (IANS) Needless to say, the ‘Ahmedabad Flower Show’ has gained recognition not only across India but across the world. This show is organized every year by Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC). The event takes place on the beautiful Sabarmati Riverfront.
AMC officials say that preparations are already underway for the grand Flower Show-2026 to be held in January 2026. This year, the theme has been chosen “Bharat Ek Gatha”. The theme highlights the glorious and diverse cultural heritage of the country through creative floral installations.
Jayesh Trivedi, chairman of the entertainment, heritage and cultural committee of the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation, told IANS that in keeping with the theme, the show will not only showcase a glimpse of rapidly developing India but will also feature intricate floral presentations of aeronautics, wind mills and solar panels.
He said, “In the last two years, many of the artefacts displayed at the flower show have made it to the Guinness Book of World Records and the Municipal Corporation aims to continue the trend this year too by presenting something new.”
AMC standing committee chairman Devang Dani told IANS that the popularity of the flower show reached new heights after Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the exhibition last year. “Carrying this momentum forward, the 2026 edition will feature over 170 flower sculptures, celebrating India’s rich cultural diversity,” he said.
He said, each sculpture is being carefully designed by expert horticulturists and artists, who are working round the clock to bring the theme to life.
The flower show of Ahmedabad attracts thousands of tourists every year. In this way, the show promotes cultural tourism and the local economy of the city. Held for the last 10 years, the show has become one of the most awaited events for the people of Ahmedabad.
