Jaipur, 22 September (IANS) The main gate of the historic Moti Mahal of Bharatpur was brutally deserted when three people in a sports utility vehicle (SUV) forcibly entered the premises of the palace and allegedly attempted to hoist the royal flag, said the royal family on Monday.
The accused was identified as Manudev from Sinsini village in Dag district and two of his colleagues left their vehicle and escaped after facing the guard.
Additional Superintendent of Police Satish Kumar confirmed that the presence of Mundev was recorded on the video, while the other two identity is under investigation.
A case has been registered on the complaint of Anirudh Singh, a member of the former royal family, against one name and two unidentified persons.
Security in the city has been tightened after the incident.
On Sunday, four districts of police, an STF company, RAC battalion, and more than 200 personnel were deployed in Bharatpur amidst tension on the issue of flags as the anonymous men threatened to hoist the princely states in the palace.
The blockade was installed, and vehicles entering and leaving the city were checked. Moti Mahal’s barbarity gate was repaired the same night, and the police remained there.
Anirudh Singh, son of Vishvendra Singh, the then Shahi of Bharatpur, reached Mathura Gate Police Station at 3 pm on Monday and filed a complaint against Manudev.
On Monday morning, Anirudh Singh said, “Police investigation will reveal who is behind the incident. This place is close to Moti Mahal, and royal objects could also be damaged.” He also alleged that “anti -social elements” were involved.
Meanwhile, a large panchayat began in Sinsini village, Dag -Manudev’s hometown in connection with the dispute.
Retired army person and social activist Manudev also brought alive the incident on his social media page. The situation is under stress, but under control, the police have maintained strict monitoring around the sensitive areas of Moti Mahal and Bharatpur.
