Bhediya box office day 1 collection: Varun Dhawan film opens low at ₹7.48 crore, Drishyam 2 still number one choice

Bhediya, starring Varun Dhawan, has opened to low numbers at the domestic box office. The film, directed by Amar Kaushik, collected 7.48 crore nett on day one of its release. Bhediya couldn’t surpass the collection of Drishyam 2 on day 8. It earned 7.87 crore on the eighth day of its release. In a press note on Saturday, production banners Jio Studios and Maddock Films shared the gross worldwide collection of Bhediya on day one. The note read, “Bhediya opens to 12.06 crores gross box office worldwide on Friday, day one. The film grew substantially by Friday evening, displaying fantastic upward trend with Saturday morning shows already showing average 45 percent growth over Friday morning, amidst positive reviews and word of mouth.”

Taking to Twitter on Saturday, film trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared a poster of the film featuring Varun. He shared a different box office figure, and tweeted, “Bhediya opens way below the mark on Day 1, despite favourable word of mouth… Reported better occupancy during evening/ night shows, which gives it a chance to gather momentum… Biz (business) needs to multiply on Day 2 and 3 for a healthy weekend total… Friday 7.48 cr. India biz.”
