Beyoncé is going to perform at the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards

Beyoncé is set to return to the MTV Video Music Awards in September after an eight-year hiatus.

A source spoke to The Mirror and said the singer will return for the 40th anniversary of the MTV VMAs.

An insider said, “Beyoncé is a huge hit for the VMAs and will be a huge ratings hit.”

“She is currently figuring out what her appearance will be like and whether it will be a song or a tribute similar to the 2014 closing performance when she received the coveted Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award,” the source told the outlet.

An insider added, “Since it’s such a big year, the ceremony wants to regain some of its prestige.”

The source noted, “Therefore, some of the more lowbrow reality TV stars from shows and Tik Tok will have a harder time gaining entry, while artists like Dua Lipa, Muni Long and Billie Eilish will be given priority.”

An insider said, “They’re hoping to book Taylor Swift, too.”

The news comes as she was recognized as the first black artist to top the UK charts with her new country album, cowboy carter,
