Between 600, 500 Kashmiri students transferred from Qom to Mashhad, to return to India tomorrow: Jksa

The Jammu and Kashmir Students Association (JKSA) said on Thursday that about 600 Indian students, including 500 from Kashmir, have been safely transferred from Mashad from a border city in Iran, QOM, which is as part of the ongoing evacuation efforts.

In a statement, national convenor Nasir Khumhemi said, “Around 600 Indian students, including 500 from Kashmir, have safely reached Mashhad.

The association said, “A border city in Iran,” is located about 1,000 kilometers from Mashhad, QOM, a trip that takes about 15 hours from the road. Students are from various institutions, including Islamic Azad University, Iran University of Medical Sciences, and Shahid Beheshti University.

The association said, “We are in constant communication with the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) and the Indian Embassy in Iran to ensure safety and smooth withdrawal of students.”

Regarding the arrival of nine students from Iran to Srinagar, Khoomi expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister and the Foreign Minister, saying, “We are grateful to the Prime Minister and Foreign Minister for ensuring their safe return.” Earlier yesterday, 94 Kashmiri students were successfully vacated and reached Delhi from Iran.
