Bentley has revived its Supersports name for a faster, lighter and more focused version of its Continental GT.
In the move to a supersports model, Bentley has removed the Continental GT’s hybrid system, leaving the 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 to its own devices. crew The brand says it produces 657bhp overall – down from 771bhp in the hybrid Continental GT – while 800Nm of torque is also sent directly to the rear wheels via an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. It also represents a significant change from the all-wheel-drive Continental GT.
Bentley says the SuperSport will manage 0-60 mph in 3.7 seconds before reaching a top speed of 192 mph.
These powertrain changes are combined with carbon ceramic brakes, an Akrapovic titanium exhaust and 22-inch forged wheels to create a more purposeful version of the Continental GT. Bentley says sticky Pirelli Trofeo RS tires can also be added as an option.
Outside of the SuperSport, you’ll find the largest front splitter ever on a Bentley road car, as well as carbon fiber side sills and a rear diffuser, which combined with other aero elements helps generate 300kg more downforce than the standard Continental GT Speed. There’s also a carbon fiber roof to help lower the car’s center of gravity.
Overall, the lightweight changes have helped the Supersports shed almost half a tonne from the standard Continental GT and Bentley says ‘overall it will weigh less than 2,000 kilograms.’
The changes also extend to the cabin, which is now a full two-seat configuration and two new sport seats are placed lower in the car for a sporty feel. Instead of having seats, the rear of the cabin now gets a carbon fiber shell trimmed in leather.
To date, only three previous Supersports models exist, dating back to the original ‘Super Sports’ of 1925.
This latest model will be limited to just 500 units worldwide, available to order from March 2026. Although Bentley has not revealed pricing for the SuperSport, it is expected to cost around £400,000 – a big increase on the standard GT’s £237,000 starting price.
