Bengaluru, October 31 (IANS) A police complaint has been lodged in Bengaluru against a daughter and her friends suspecting them to be involved in the murder of her mother. The sister of the deceased woman lodged a complaint at Subramanyapura police station in Bengaluru on Friday and the police have started investigation.

The deceased has been identified as Netravati, 34, a resident of Uttarahalli near Subramanyapura in Bengaluru. In this regard, the deceased’s sister Anita K, resident of KTM Layout, has filed a complaint against five people including the daughter of the deceased woman and her friends.

All the accused are minors aged between 16 and 17 years and all have dropped out of school. The deceased woman, Netravati V, worked as a helper in Nest Loan Recovery Company.

A case has been registered under section 103(1) read with 3(5) of the Indian Justice Code (BNS). According to the police, the incident took place between 10.30 pm on October 25 and 12 noon on October 27. A complaint in this regard was lodged on the night of 30 October.

According to the police, complainant Anita appeared at the police station and lodged a complaint that on October 27, her younger sister Netravati was found hanging. He expressed doubts about the circumstances of his sister’s death. Based on his complaint, a case of unnatural death was registered under Section 194(3)(iv) of the BNSS at Subramanyapura police station.

Later, on October 29, the complainant again appeared at the police station and reported that since the day of her sister’s death, the daughter of the deceased was missing. On the basis of this, a case was registered under Section 137(2) of BNS-2023.

Police said, around 1.30 pm on October 30, Netravati’s daughter returned home and told that on October 25, around 10.30 pm, when she and her mother were at home, her friends had come. When Netravati said she would call the police about her visit, they strangled her mother with a towel, dragged her to another room and hanged her from the ceiling fan with her saree.

The daughter claimed that her friends threatened her with a knife and warned her not to tell anyone and then left. She said she was very scared and went to stay at her friend’s house. After learning about her mother’s death, she returned home that day.

Therefore, it seemed that the daughter of the deceased had left the house last Saturday night and was hiding somewhere for 3-4 days.

Police said that based on her statement, the complainant suspected that the daughter, along with her friends, murdered her sister Netravathi for some reason and hanged her to make it look like suicide.

The complainant pleaded that legal action should be taken against the accused and justice should be given to his sister. The police have taken the matter under investigation.
