Bengaluru, Nov 20 (IANS) A man has been arrested in Bengaluru for allegedly misbehaving with a woman on the pretext of showing affection to her pet dog. Police gave this information on Thursday.
The incident took place on November 7 at around 10.30 pm in the limits of Gyanbharti police station. The accused also snatched the woman’s mobile phone before fleeing.

According to the complaint, the woman was out for a walk with her dog in Upkar Layout when the man approached her and asked if he could pet the animal. Believing he was a dog lover, she allowed it. After petting the dog, he allegedly touched it inappropriately. When she protested, he tried to attack her again, forcing her to slap him.
During the commotion his mobile phone fell on the ground. Before bystanders could intervene, the man picked it up and ran away. The woman later lodged a complaint, following which the police launched a search and analyzed CCTV footage to identify the accused.
The incident comes amid two other recent crimes against women in the city.
