Bengal student murder: Protest in Birbah School, Headmaster Thrash

Kolkata, September 18 (IANS) on Thursday staged a protest in a school in Birbam district of West Bengal a day after a person was arrested for his murder in connection with the murder of a student.

The situation became so violent in Shyampari Shri Ramakrishna Shikshith in Rampurhat that the policemen were called to dispersed the bizarre parents and to control the situation.

The protesters beaten the headmaster, which was rescued and sent to a hospital for treatment.

As soon as the headmaster entered the school, parents and locals threw him. Later, when police personnel tried to stop the protesters and save the headmaster, the mob tried to catch him. More policemen reached the spot and brought the situation under control.

The protesters alleged that the headmaster repeatedly tried to mold the accused teacher.

An angry parents told the media persons, “Can we send our children to this school, where a teacher is accused of killing a student? The headmaster tried to mold her and did not take any action even after the parents of the deceased girl raised their fingers. Earlier, other students had complained about this teacher. But even then no action was taken.”

On Wednesday, Birbam police arrested the school’s physics teacher when he was recovered from a sack of disintegrated body of the seventh standard student about 20 days after he went out.

The family of the deceased accused the physics teacher of that school, Manoj Kumar Pal, of kidnapping and killing the student.

Based on his complaint, the police arrested the accused teacher.

Police said that the student’s body was cut into pieces, was put into a sack and thrown under a bridge. It has been sent for the post -mortem examination to find out whether the student was tortured before killing the student.

According to the complaint lodged by the family, the student left home on August 28 to take his tuition.

Family members had filed a complaint with a missing person with Rampurrat police station after returning home. Later, family members alleged that Pal had abducted her.

Late on Tuesday night, Ramprat police recovered the body of a student from an wetland near Kalidanga village under Rampurhat police station.
