Kolkata, Oct 28 (IANS) Following the arrest of BJP leader Rakesh Singh and his children in an assault case in West Bengal, his minor daughter on Tuesday filed a counter-complaint of molestation against the son of the flat owner on whose complaint her father was arrested.
Police said that based on the complaint of the BJP leader’s daughter, the son of flat owner Chandu Khan has been arrested.
Kasba police said all those arrested will be produced in the court today during the day, where police custody of the accused will be sought.
According to sources, the police is investigating whether Rakesh Singh’s minor daughter also had any role in the incident that took place on Monday.
A senior Kolkata Police official said, “We have received a counter-complaint today. The BJP leader’s daughter has filed the complaint. The accused has been arrested on molestation charges. We are investigating both the incidents. Separate cases have been registered. The investigation is ongoing.”
Kolkata Police on Monday arrested Rakesh Singh and his son for vandalizing a housing complex in Kolkata’s Kasba area.
The police had also detained the minor daughter of the BJP leader on the same charge.
According to Rajarshi Khan, son of flat owner Chandu Khan, “Rakesh Singh has a flat on the fourth floor. He has forcibly occupied our flat on the third floor. He has kept his stuff there. I have repeatedly asked him to remove his stuff. But, he did not remove the stuff. We were taking laborers today and were keeping their stuff down because we were paying rent. Then eight to nine people came and beat my father and brother. They had their hands in their hands. There were firearms. Beat them with gun butts. My father had to be admitted to the hospital. They also attacked me with a knife.”
However, now the daughter has filed a case of molestation against the flat owner’s son.
In September, Rakesh Singh was arrested for vandalizing the West Bengal Pradesh Congress Committee (WBPCC) office in central Kolkata. Later he was released on bail.
