Ben Gwir said in a statement to the Associated Press, “Self-righteous European countries that are being manipulated by Hamas-in the end they will discover terrorism on their own meat.”
France and the United Kingdom have announced a plan to recognize Palestine, which puts additional diplomatic pressure on Israel.
Australia, Canada and European countries have stepped into the Palestinian Authority to improve the state’s recognition. But the body is deeply unpopular among the Palestinians and is seen as corrupt and unable to operate it effectively. Israel has then opposed playing a big role in Gaza.
