‘Baseless’: Rashmi Gautam denies rumors of being approached for Kurki Madhapiti song

Rashmi Gautam is best known for her hosting prowess on Telugu television and she has also established herself as an accomplished actress through famous films like Prasthanam and Bomma Blockbuster . Recently, viral reports suggested that Rashmi will initially be seen in the song ‘Kurchi Madathapetti’ from the film Guntur Kalam in place of actress Poorna. However, Rashmi took to Twitter to refute the claims, denouncing the rumors as baseless and stressing that she was never approached for the role. She praised Poona for her stellar performance in the song and warned against spreading such false news, which could damage her reputation.

Poorna’s stunning dance performance in the song ‘Kurchi Madathapetti’ earned her widespread acclaim, taking the song to the second spot on the YouTube trending list. The song is sung by Sahithi Chaganti and Sri Krishna, the lyrics are written by Saraswathi Puthra Ramajogayaa Sastry, and the music is by Thaman S.

Guntur Kaaram, starring Mahesh Babu and directed by Trivikram Srinivas, premiered in theaters on January 12. The film stars Rashmi in the lead and also stars Sreeleela, Meenakshi Chaudhary and others. Despite opening to a rousing response, Guntur Kalam failed to live up to box office expectations and reportedly grossed Rs 179.55 crore at the global box office. Critics attributed its poor performance to lack of audience appeal and stiff competition from Prasanth Varma’s HanuMan.
