Kochi, October 13 (IANS) The South Kerala unit of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) in a statement issued on Monday demanded a comprehensive investigation into the unnatural death of its activist Anandhu Aji.
“RSS South Kerala demands a comprehensive investigation into the circumstances leading to the unnatural death of Anandhu Aji. The suicide note which appeared on Instagram and some social media platforms soon after his death contains some dubious and baseless allegations against the Sangh, which he cites as the reason for his suicide,” read the RSS statement signed by RSS co-provost KB Sreekumar. Proceedings.
The statement also said: “The unnatural death of Aji, one of our volunteers from Elikulam Gram Panchayat in Kottayam district, is very sad and unfortunate. His family has been associated with the Sangh for many years. Anandu’s father Late Shri Aji was an RSS worker. In this unfortunate moment, we strongly stand with the family and pray to God to rest his soul in peace.”
The RSS, in a written petition filed with the Kottayam district police, demanded a thorough and impartial investigation.
“We strongly believe that an independent investigation will not only reveal the real cause of his unnatural death but will also ensure the RSS’s innocence in this unfortunate incident,” the statement said.
Incidentally, 26-year-old software engineer Anandhu Aji was found dead in a lodge room in the state capital Thiruvananthapuram last week.
In his Instagram account, which went live the same day, Anandhu said he decided to end his life after battling serious mental health disorders, including depression, for years.
His disorder was reportedly caused by the horrific sexual abuse he suffered as a child.
Anandu, who joined the RSS as a child, alleged that the organization was responsible for his mental illnesses, which were caused by the repeated sexual and physical abuse he faced during his childhood.
He wrote, “I am not angry with anyone except one person and one organization. The organization is RSS (Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh), in which my father (a very nice man) got me involved. This is where I have suffered lifelong trauma from the organization and that person.”
