Barron Trump ‘focused’ Sources close to the family say he was trying to shed his Slovenian accent to better blend in with his American peers.
The president’s youngest son, 19, He has reportedly been taking speech lessons to become more confident when speaking.
“Barron is now very focused on how he presents himself,” a source told Celebrity Reporter Rob Shute. “He’s thoughtful and thoughtful and wants to sound confident when he speaks, but he does so quietly and doesn’t draw attention to himself.”
Old videos circulating of Barron when he was four show him with a distinctive Slovenian accent declaring “I love my suitcase” while playing with his mother Melania and his father.
Unlike his older brothers, Donald Jr. and Eric, the youngest Trump has been known to avoid the spotlight, but he made numerous public appearances at various rallies during his father’s presidential campaign last year. Unlike his siblings, though, he rarely held a microphone at them.
Barron is also partly credited with helping Trump win their votes by engaging with them through modern forms of media, including podcasts.
Another source told Schuette: “He stays out of the spotlight as much as possible. He is very private about his privacy and his mother makes sure it stays that way. Melania is fiercely protective of him.”
Barron was raised primarily by his grandparents and mother, who was known to be fiercely protective of him in the public sphere. Sources told Schuette that the first lady wanted to allow her son to live a “normal life — free of cameras and public pressure.”
“She was always hands-on to make sure he was safe and grounded,” the source said. “That means guiding, protecting and helping him explore the world on his own terms, along with his grandparents who have been there from day one.”
Barron currently lives in the White House Executive Residence and takes classes at New York University’s Washington campus.
Although he was hyped by other members of the Republican Party and described as “down to earth” and worldly, his college classmates reported that he mostly kept to himself and was restricted by his membership in the First Family.
