Mumbai, Nov 21 (IANS) To reduce the stressful and tiring lifestyle of the medical fraternity and bring them closer to the spiritual realm, the city’s BAPS Swaminarayan Mandir hosted a medical-spiritual seminar on the topic ‘Healing the Healers’.
The event brought together various senior doctors from leading super-specialty hospitals in Mumbai to draw their attention towards the emotional and spiritual well-being of doctors, paramedics and other support staff.
The program began with darshan, initiation and Vedic prayers, followed by an inspiring introductory film on BAPS spiritual guru Mahant Swami Maharaj.
The BAPS symposium was organized to address the challenging circumstances, relentless schedules and emotional fatigue of the fraternity as well as increasing patient expectations. The seminar focused on strengthening their inner resilience by providing them with practical, spiritual and psychological tools to strengthen their inner resilience.
Many doctors and eminent medical experts expressed their views on the spiritual aspect of life and its importance.
Padma Bhushan Dr Ashwin Mehta, one of the country’s eminent cardiologists, emphasized on the emotional overload among doctors and how it often remains unheard, thereby highlighting the need for spiritual anchoring, inner peace and mental clarity during high-stress medical situations.
Dr. Sudhanshu Bhattacharya, renowned cardiac surgeon and distinguished medical educator, elaborates on the psychological stress faced by surgeons and how spiritual discipline helps restore emotional balance and make calm, life-saving decisions.
Dr. Kanti Patel, Senior ENT Surgeon, shared valuable insights on attentiveness, compassion and self-care as essential qualities for long-term excellence in medical care.
Senior BAPS monk and global motivational speaker Gyanvatsal Swami provides powerful guidance on building mental stability, emotional balance and inner strength. Doctors found his message deeply relevant and uplifting.
The symposium reflected BAPS’s ongoing effort to support health care professionals by offering an environment that promotes inner strength, clarity and spiritual rejuvenation.
