The Nationalist Party on Saturday called on Bangladesh’s interim government to ensure an end to atrocities against Hindus and the immediate release of Hindu spiritual leader Chinmoy Krishna Das. In a statement, RSS general secretary Dattatreya Hosabale called on the Indian government to continue its efforts to stop atrocities against Hindus and other minorities in Bangladesh and take necessary steps at the earliest to build global public opinion in support of them.
He said the incidents of attacks, murders, robberies, arson and inhumane atrocities committed by Islamic fundamentalists against Hindus, women and all other minorities in Bangladesh were extremely worrying and the BJP condemned them.
Bangladesh government remains silent
Hosabale said that instead of stopping them, the current Bangladeshi government and other institutions have become silent bystanders. The RSS general secretary said that a new era of injustice and atrocities against Hindus in Bangladesh seems to be emerging in order to silence their democratic voice for self-defence.
It is unjust to send Sri Chinmoy Krishna Das to jail.
He said it was unjust for the Bangladesh government to jail Chinmoy Krishna Das, a saint who was a member of ISKCON and who led Hindus in such protests Peaceful protests. Bangladeshi police on Monday arrested Chinmoy Krishna Das Brahmachari at Dhaka’s Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport as he was leaving for Chittagong.
Atrocities against Hindus should stop immediately
Hosabale said the PPP called on the Bangladesh government to ensure an immediate end to atrocities against Hindus in Bangladesh and the release of Mr. Chinmoy Krishna Das. The RSS general secretary said that India as well as the international community and organizations should stand with the Bangladeshi victims at this critical moment and express support. This, he said, was necessary for global peace and brotherhood.
