BAFTA Awards 2024: Know when and where to watch the British awards show in India

With film awards season approaching in March, with the 96th Academy Awards just around the corner, attention now turns to the British Academy Film Awards (BAFTA). The British Academy of Film and Television Arts Awards (BAFTA) are organized by the British Academy of Film and Television Arts to honor the best British and international films. This year is the 77th edition of the awards.

The 2024 British Academy Film Awards (BAFTA) are scheduled to take place on 18 February 2024 at 7pm GMT at the Royal Festival Hall in London. The awards ceremony will begin on February 19 at 12:30 pm IST. In India, viewers can tune into Lionsgate Play to watch red carpet shows and award shows.

This year, the historical drama Oppenheimer received the most BAFTA nominations (13). “Poor Things” and Martin Scorsese’s “Killers of the Flower Moon” also performed well, with nine nominations each. The three films will compete for the top prize for best picture, along with the courtroom drama “Anatomy of a Fall” and the comedy “Watchmen,” which is set in a boys’ boarding school. Mattel’s “Barbie,” starring Margot Robbie, was recognized in five categories. While it has yet to be confirmed who will present the awards in each category, former winners Emma McKay and Jack O’Connell will present the Rising Star Awards. This year’s contenders include Phoebe Dynevor, Ayo Edebiri, Jacob Elordi, Mia McKenna-Bruce and Sophie Wilde.

Following her appearance at the Oscars last year, Bollywood star Deepika Padukone will also make an appearance at the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA). According to Variety , she will be handing out gold masks. She was joined on stage by celebrities including David Beckham, Cate Blanchett and Dua Lipa. Other stars in attendance at the ceremony included “Bridgerton” actress Adjoa Andoh, Hugh Grant, “Emily in Paris” Lily Collins, “The Crown” star Emma Corrin and Gillian Anderson, as well as Himish Patel and Idris Elba.
