Maharajganj (Uttar Pradesh), November 21 (IANS) Security has been tightened from Ayodhya to the India-Nepal border ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to the holy city of Uttar Pradesh on November 25 in the wake of the recent blasts in Delhi.
The Prime Minister will hoist a sacred religious flag over the Ram temple, which will mark a major milestone in the construction of the temple. Thousands of dignitaries, including Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, are expected to attend the grand ceremony that will last for about four hours.
PM Modi will hoist the flag on the 190-foot-high spire of the temple, marking the completion of the massive structure. After the ceremony, he is scheduled to address over 7,000 guests at the temple complex. Given the scale of the event and recent security concerns, officials are on high alert to ensure that no anti-national or terrorist elements disrupt the proceedings.
Maharajganj Superintendent of Police Somendra Meena confirmed that security has been increased along the India-Nepal border following the Delhi blasts. Village security committees have been activated, and existing footpath pickets have been strengthened. Joint patrolling is being carried out by local police and SSB personnel to prevent illegal infiltration or suspicious activities from across the border.
All CCTV cameras in the area have been activated, with additional cameras installed in vulnerable areas prone to unauthorized entry. LIU (Local Intelligence Unit) is continuously monitoring and officers are continuously patrolling. According to the Superintendent of Police, residents of slums and temporary settlements near the border are being verified and their identity documents are being strictly checked.
Temple officials have said this year’s celebration will be especially grand. The main temple as well as the subsidiary temples dedicated to Lord Mahadev, Lord Ganesha, Lord Hanuman, Suryadev, Maa Bhagwati, Maa Annapurna and Sheshavatar will be decorated with elaborate decorations.
The rituals will be conducted by 108 Acharyas from Ayodhya, Kashi and South India under the guidance of renowned Kashi scholar Ganeshwar Shastri. The ceremony will hoist the saffron flag symbolizing the Sun, which represents eternal energy, divine radiance, virtue and enlightenment – qualities associated with Lord Rama.
