Ayodhya incident: Over 4,000 Noida police on alert mode, security beefed up at UP borders

Security was beefed up manifold with deployment of over 4,000 police personnel in Noida and Greater Noida as vigil was heightened on Sunday in Gautam Buddh Nagar district, which shares borders with Delhi and Haryana. Officials said monitoring of social media platforms like Facebook, X, Instagram has also been increased to keep an eye on the spread of misinformation or content that may be prejudicial to law and order.

Gautam Buddh Nagar Police Commissioner Lakshmi Singh has directed officers to ensure maximum deployment on the ground, including law and order and traffic duties, in view of the day of Shri Ram Lalla Pran Pratishtha program in Ayodhya on Monday, a police spokesperson said. According to this, the entire Police Commissionerate has been divided into three super zones, 10 zones and 26 sectors. 350 additional police forces and two company PACs have been allotted to the police stations. Around 4,000 police personnel have been deployed to maintain law and order, while sniffer dogs, anti-sabotage and bomb disposal squads are checking railway stations, bus stands, metro stations, malls and markets, the spokesperson said.

The locally formed Pinaka Commando team has been kept ready to deal with any situation. 150 four-wheelers and 160 two-wheelers and 116 two/four-wheelers of Dial 112 have been kept mobile to keep an eye on the situation,” the official said. According to police, 325 traffic personnel have been deployed to ensure smooth movement of vehicles in Noida and Greater Noida on Monday.

“Besides, suspicious persons and vehicles are being checked at 20 locations along the interstate border,” the police spokesperson said. Besides, police personnel have been deployed at all religious places in the district.

“To curb any evil attempt by anti-social elements, 60 teams have been formed which will keep an eye on the situation near religious places from 3 pm to 6 am,” the officer said. Geared up to deal with any mischief or its attempts and warned of action against criminals.

Those spreading rumors on social media are being monitored through the Social Media Cell. Suspicious activities are also being monitored through the surveillance team.
