According to official data, this year has seen a sharp rise in incidents of snatching, mobile theft and online fraud due to rapid digital adoption and easy mobility within the city.
Police officials said several special cells, including cyber crime unit and anti-snatching teams, have been strengthened to ensure rapid detection and community coordination.
Senior officials said priority was being given to targeted night patrolling, integrated CCTV networks and intelligence-based policing to curb local violence, especially in the outer and north-eastern districts.
