Bengaluru/New Delhi, 6 October (IANS) Union Food and Civil Supplies Minister Pralhad Joshi strongly condemned the attack on the Chief Justice of India. Reacting to the episode, he said, “The attack on the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court Bra Gawai is unbearable. Such an act is incompetent in our society and under the Constitution. Despite the attack, Justice Gawai showed calm and harmony. It has further enhanced the dignity of the judiciary.”
Karnataka Home Minister. God moved to X, condemning the incident. He said, “I strongly condemn the incident where a lawyer threw a shoe in the Honorable Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, Bra Gawai. The act of throwing shoes in a judge is a serious insult to the country’s judicial system and the constitution,” he said.
Justice Bra Gavai, who belongs to a marginalized community, has increased through ranks by getting higher education and is now one of the most respected positions in the country. He said that religious fundamentalists of the so -called Sanatan culture have highlighted their unique mentality within the premises of the Supreme Court.
God underlined, “Judge is the patron of our country’s democratic system and constitution. By throwing a shoe in a judge, the advocate has insulted the entire judicial system. I strongly urge that strict legal action should be taken against the lawyer involved, and the dignity of the judiciary should be maintained.”
RDPR ministers, IT and BT Priyank Kharge said, “Today, supporters of ‘Manuwad’ have not put any shoe on anyone other than the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court. It is not just an attack on one person, but an attack on the constitution, an attack on the constitution.
There is no need to name clearly that encourages such a mentality of ‘Manuwad’. This is not just a shoe attack, but a terrorist attack on the values of the Constitution by the fundamentalists of ‘Manuwad’, Kharge accused.
This phenomenon is still another example of intolerance that ‘Manuvadis’ port against the constitution, and continuous harassment of oppressors, even when one of them has increased the highest constitutional position of the country. Today, we have found a direct proof of our fear that “the constitution is in danger,” said Priyank Kharge.
Is today’s rule in this country not being run according to the values of the Constitution? Or is it being run on the basis of ‘Manusmri’ promoted by RSS? Will the central government take responsibility for this incident? Kharge questioned.
An act that has never happened in the history of the nation, has now happened. He said that this black spot of ‘Manuwadis’ can never be erased.
A dramatic incident occurred in the Supreme Court on Monday when an elderly man tried to throw a shoe at the Chief Justice Bra Gawai of India during a court hearing. However, the shoes were reduced from the bench, and security personnel stopped the person quickly.
Unaffected by disintegration, Chief Justice Gawai while addressing the court said, “I am the last person to be affected by such things,” before continuing as proceedings.
Eyewitnesses said the incident occurred soon after raising the first case of the day. The person was later identified through a close card as Kishore Rakesh, which is usually issued to lawyers and clerks, allegedly raised slogans, such as “India will not tolerate the insult of Sanatan,” before trying to throw the shoe. Their objectives are unclear, and security agencies are currently questioning them.
The dramatic incident came in view of the criticism directed by Chief Justice BR Gavai, which was on a comment made during the hearing of a public interest petition regarding the reconstruction of the damaged statue of Lord Vishnu in Khajuraho. Rejecting the petition, Gawai allegedly said, “Go and ask the deity to do something yourself,” a comment that expressed widespread resentment on social media.
Responding to the controversy, Chief Justice Gawai clarified, “Somebody informed me that my comment was painted in a certain way on social media. I respect all religions.”
