Late night on Thursday, October 16, sounds of gunfire and grenade blasts disturbed the peace of Kakopathar in Assam’s Tinsukia district, causing panic among residents. The firing reportedly continued for about an hour around Kakopathar Army Camp. Initial reports indicate that the grenades were hurled at the Indian Army’s 19 Grenadiers unit camp around midnight, News18 reported.
Security officials confirmed that three army personnel were injured in the blast.
