Jaipur, 30 September (IANS) former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot strongly condemned the organization of a scripture worship program by the RSS at Rajasthan University on Tuesday, called it “objectionable in itself”.
He questioned the suitability of using an educational institution for such political activities and criticized the police for dealing with student protests.
“When NSUI workers protested against it, the police resorted to the use of the force. In addition, the RSS workers took the law into their hands and attacked the NSUI workers. This shows that the rule of the law in Rajasthan is gradually ending, and the RSS has become an additional constitutional authority.”
He said that the incident, which took place in the presence of the police, reflected the failure of the force to function impartially.
“This means that the police is under pressure from the RSS. If the police continue to work under such pressure, how will they enact law and order?”
Congress leader Sachin Pilot also criticized police action, called it “highly condemnable” and wished the injured NSUI workers to recover faster.
He emphasized that educational institutions should never turn into the centers of politics.
Similarly, the leader of opposition MLA Tika Ram Julie condemned alleged allegations, vehicle barbarity and arrest of NSUI leaders, urging the Chief Minister to ensure his immediate release.
Tika Ram Julli said, “Police incident, with the support of the government, charging NSUI leaders and workers at the University of Rajasthan, who were protesting against the hatred-run politics of BJP and RSS, are wandering their vehicles, and again to not tell them not to do notes not to do notes, they do not tell these temples and do not tell them with immediate effects. Should be released.
