For me, this is the most unpredictable of the five games. The SCG is the venue for England’s numerous Test wins in Australia, 22 of them to be exact. The most recent was during their last winning away trip, back in 2010/11.

The way this series has gone, I can’t see Bashir getting the nod, I think they will rely on seamers, Jacks and Root to play again to help. Matthew Potts has had to wait for his Test return, but Jofra Archer and Mark Wood have returned home, while Gus Atkinson, the latest to suffer a hamstring strain, looks certain to get the nod.

He is a very good bowler, although not as fast as his Durham team-mates Brendan Kass or Josh Tongue, but he will keep nagging and picking up wickets. However, I again did the main damage for England with Tongue.

As a young player in the prime of his life, he became the first England player since Dean Headley in 1998 to be named Australia’s Player of the Match, and he was once again seen as playing a major role.

You may recall that my series scoreline prediction was 3-2 for Australia, which is still possible.
