New Delhi, Nov 19 (IANS) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday released the 21st installment of the Rs 18,000 crore PM-Kisan scheme from Coimbatore in Tamil Nadu to support 9 crore farmers across the country.
With the 21st installment, till now an amount of more than Rs 3.70 lakh crore has been distributed to a total of 11 crore farmer families.
As the monetary assistance of Rs 2,000 was deposited into the accounts of beneficiaries across the country, it brought smiles on the faces of farmers, who expressed their gratitude to the Prime Minister for the farmer-centric welfare scheme.
Many farmers across the country spoke to IANS and shared their happiness as well as experiences of how this money helps them meet farm expenses in difficult times.
There is an atmosphere of happiness in Sahibganj district of Jharkhand after getting Rs 2,000 in the accounts of the beneficiaries.
A group of farmers said in an exclusive conversation with IANS, “Earlier, due to lack of capital, we faced a lot of difficulty in farming, but since the launch of PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, we are getting a lot of help and we are able to buy fertilizers and seeds on time and plant them in the fields.”
District President of BJP also attended the PM-Kisan program in Ghazipur, Uttar Pradesh as the chief guest. He said that crores of rupees come to the district through Kisan Samman Nidhi, which has a great impact not only on the farming community but also on the market.
“When farmers buy essential commodities, cash flow in the market increases,” he stressed.
Farmers in Koderma, Bihar said there was a time when they had to take loans to meet their farming needs. Now whether it is buying fertilizer, seeds or any other need, they do not need to worry.
Women farmers of the district expressed deep appreciation for the financial assistance under the scheme and thanked the Prime Minister.
In Rajasthan’s Kotputli-Behror district, farmers thanked the Prime Minister for understanding the plight of farmers and addressing their poor condition with the welfare fund under PM-Kisan.
A farmer named Mahavir said his family and fellow villagers were grateful to the Prime Minister for getting them out of the crisis and financial crisis.
Bhagirath Chaudhary, Union Minister of State for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare in Rajasthan, told IANS that PM-Kisan has become an important means of financial empowerment for farmers.
He said the Rs 2,000 fund under PM-Kisan has encouraged farming and provided significant relief to small and marginal farmers.
The beneficiary farmers present at the local program expressed their gratitude to PM Modi and said that they use this amount to purchase fertilizers, seeds, pesticides and necessary agricultural equipment.
Tikam Singh, a farmer from Bharbhadia village in Neemuch, Madhya Pradesh, said, “PM Modi has implemented a very good scheme. I am getting an installment of Rs 2000 from the beginning. This helps us buy fertilizers and seeds. We are grateful to him that he gave us money to buy fertilizers and seeds.”
Farmer Dashrath Rathod, resident of Bharbhadia village in Neemuch district, said, “We are getting double the benefit. Under PM-Kisan, we get Rs 2,000 in our account, and we also get an additional Rs 2,000 from the state government. We use this amount to meet our agricultural needs. We want to thank Prime Minister Narendra Modi and MP CM Mohan Yadav.”
Notably, the PM-Kisan scheme is one of the largest Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) initiatives, garnering global praise for its significant impact on financial assistance to beneficiaries.
