A group of 51 women left for the Saudi Airlines flight to the holy city of Saudi Airlines from Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport in Delhi to leave for SV-3085 to perform Haj without a male guardian (Mehram).
In Terminal 3, Delhi State Haj Committee Chairperson Kausar Jahan, Executive Officer Ashfaq Ahmed Arfi, Deputy Executive Officer Mohsin Ali, and other committee members Aari saw the pilgrims with flowers and best stories.
Kasar Jahan, chairperson of the Delhi State Haj Committee, said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, this progressive move of the Central Government has created more opportunities and ease for people of all areas of life.
Of the 51 women, 20 are showing from Delhi, 22 from Uttar Pradesh, two from Bihar, four from Jammu, four from Jammu and Kashmir, one from Punjab, and two from Uttarakhand – two from Uttarakhand.
The fourth Haj flight in the ongoing series began on 30 April. So far, 1,646 pilgrims, including 839 men and 807 women, have flew to Madina.
From April 30 to May 30, 38 Haj flights will depart from Delhi. Of these, 16 flights will go to Madina from May 15, while the remaining 22 flights from May 16 to May 30 will land in Jeddah for maize-bound pilgrims.
This year’s Haj is not only a spiritual milestone for pilgrims, but is also an important moment of empowerment and inclusion for women traveling without Maharam under new policies. (AI)
