New Delhi, Nov 3 (IANS) Indian Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi released the book ‘General Jottings Rearmed’ written by Lieutenant General KJ Singh (Retd), which highlights Operation Sindoor and national security imperatives. An official gave this information on Monday.

The Chief of Army Staff (COAS) also praised the author for presenting deep insights into India’s emerging security landscape, providing a practical toolkit to analyze national and global security issues.

“Focusing on contemporary conflicts such as Operation Vermillion, Ukraine War and the Gaza conflict, the book explores India’s border management, defense preparedness and regional dynamics,” the Additional Directorate General of Public Information said in a post on X.

The book serves as a comprehensive reference to understand the complexities of modern warfare, strategic decision making and national security issues, the official said.

Earlier in September, General Upendra Dwivedi had released the book ‘Operation Sindoor: The Untold Story of India’s Deep Strikes Inside Pakistan’ by Lieutenant General KJS Dhillon (Retd).

The book details India’s decisive multi-domain operation across the Line of Control (LOC) earlier this year.

Speaking at the launch, General Dwivedi stressed that the operation was not limited to the widely recognized 88-hour period.

He said, “You might be thinking that the war ended on May 10. No. It continued for a long time because a lot of decisions had to be taken. When to start, when to stop, how much to implement in terms of time, space and resources… all these things were under constant discussion.”

Talking about his book, Lieutenant General Dhillon (retd) said: “This book covers everything after independence, the developments till Pulwama and Pahalgam, and then what is the difference between Pulwama and Pahalgam, and why it had to happen in Pahalgam, and then from Pahalgam till May 6, 7, the launch of Operation Sindoor.”

He said, “I think we are absolutely honored and I am very fortunate to have the Chief among us today. Then the book talks about planning, target selection, if, but, why and how and then comes from target to weapon matching.”
