New Delhi, Oct 21 (IANS) In a strong message of solidarity and appreciation for the armed forces, the chiefs of India’s Army, Navy and Air Force celebrated Diwali this year with troops deployed at strategic frontline locations across the country.
His visits not only highlighted the festive camaraderie but also the commitment of the armed forces towards national security and operational readiness even during the festive season.
Indian Navy Chief Admiral Dinesh Tripathi celebrated the Festival of Lights with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on board the country’s first indigenous aircraft carrier INS Vikrant.
The Prime Minister and Navy Chief interacted with the sailors and officers, acknowledging their vital role in securing India’s maritime borders and strengthening indigenous defense capabilities.
Air Force Chief Air Chief Marshal AP Singh visited the personnel deployed in the high altitude area of Ladakh.
Addressing the Indian Air Force and Indian Army officers and airmen deployed there, Air Chief Singh appreciated their professionalism and unwavering commitment despite the extreme weather conditions.
He highlighted the Air Force’s continuous efforts in enhancing jointness with the Army and leveraging advanced technologies for better operational synergy.
Meanwhile, Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi on Monday celebrated Diwali with soldiers of the Panchsul Brigade in Pithoragarh and surrounding forward areas of the Kumaon Range.
During his visit, he was briefed about the ongoing initiatives related to technology assimilation, inter-agency coordination and welfare measures for soldiers.
General Dwivedi appreciated the innovative use of underground water and fuel storage systems to ensure stability during the harsh Himalayan winters and praised the troops for their resilience and discipline.
Adding to the celebrations, Vice Chief of Air Staff Air Marshal AK Bharti visited the world’s highest battlefield, the Siachen Glacier, where he spent time with the troops deployed in extreme conditions.
He appreciated their courage and dedication in protecting India’s northernmost borders and wished them a happy Diwali.
