An Argentine court sentenced a man to 10 years in prison on Wednesday after finding him guilty of attempting to assassinate powerful former President Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner three years ago.

Fernandez’s supporters managed to capture Sabag Montiel as he was trying to flee the scene after firing the malfunctioning gun.
He confessed to his crime in court and described his assassination attempt as a means of exacting justice for Fernandez’s alleged corruption. Uliart, who was arrested a few days after the incident, denied any involvement.
