In New York City, some women are warning each other to be careful.

They are sounding the alarm about a misogynistic man who beats people at will, especially women. But no one knows who he is.

One of them, a comedian named Sarah Suzuki Harvard, was walking alone on Delancey Street in lower Manhattan on Tuesday, March 19, around 8 p.m. when the man hit her from behind One punch. When she looked back, the man had run away.

Since the incident, the 30-year-old Lower East Side resident has been dealing with headaches, nausea, dizziness, blurred vision, anxiety and post-traumatic stress disorder.

Initially, she did not report the assault to police. However, after seeing videos of other women describing similar attacks, she felt encouraged to report her own incident.

“My sister sent me TikTok videos of these girls describing how they were being punched in the face,” Havard told The Independent.

“My friend said, ‘Now that this isn’t an isolated incident, don’t you feel better?’ No, I’m getting more and more scared now that this is happening again and again and that it could escalate, that this could Happened to me again.”

Several recent similar attacks on women, occurring days or even miles apart, have attracted public attention. Accounts of the attacks spread widely on social media, especially after influencer Halley Kate shared with her 1.1 million TikTok followers that she was punched in the face by a man in Manhattan.

“You guys, I was literally just walking and a man came up to me and hit me in the face,” she said through tears, showing a bruise starting to form on the side of her forehead. “Oh my god, it hurt so much. I couldn’t even speak. Literally, I fell to the ground and now this giant goose egg is forming.”

Multiple other women in New York City have been attacked on the streets recently. They were walking and looking at their phones when it happened.

One woman was punched in the face and knocked unconscious, while another had bruises around her eyes. A girl says a man hit her while walking her dog. Another girl was hit near school.

The attackers appear to be targeting women who are distracted by their phones. They shared the video on an app called TikTok to warn others. They all told the police, but the attacker was still there. They want everyone to be careful not to walk and look at their phones.
