Apple may tap Baidu tech to bring AI features to iOS 18; know what’s coming

Apple has been in the headlines recently for being in talks with companies like Google and OpenAI to use their artificial intelligence services in its devices. Now, Apple has reportedly partnered with a Chinese tech giant called Baidu to leverage its artificial intelligence services. Apple is currently racing to launch advanced generative artificial intelligence services to compete with brands such as Samsung and Google. Apple will tap into Baidu’s AI services

According to Morningstar Report, Apple may use Baidu’s artificial intelligence services in its upcoming generative artificial intelligence tools. It also highlighted that the Chinese company’s share price surged following the news. As of now, Apple may be using Baidu’s technology in its natively generated artificial intelligence models that will power iPhone 16 models and iOS 18. Baidu’s market share increased by 5.4% on Monday after the news broke. Before Baidu, Apple was reportedly in talks with other Chinese LLM providers such as Alibaba.

9 to 5 Report Neither Apple nor Baidu confirmed this statement. However, the partnership and use of China’s AI services require multiple government approvals.
