In an Instagram video shared on Thursday, she talked about her experiences on the modeling show nearly two decades after it aired. In the video, she told followers why two parts of her head, which she pointed to, were “partially bald”, with hair reportedly no longer growing there.
“That’s because, when I was on top model, Tyra Banks He told them to put a weave in my hair,” she claimed. “Now, the black stylist who was putting it on pulled it aside. I heard them say, ‘This white girl’s hair is too delicate for that.’
Curry claimed that Banks insisted on adding hair to the former model’s head and told the stylist to “just do it.”
“Fast forward, halfway through the show, there was a wound oozing from my ponytail. Half of my hair had fallen out here,” she continued, pointing to a spot on her head and pulling out the little hair growing there.
She said that when she finished filming the show, the stylists there “didn’t take the weave out.” So when she returned to her hometown in Illinois, she had to go to an Afro hair salon to remove it properly.
“It took them several hours to get it out,” Curry said. “I was left with terrible gash marks on my head. [The workers] They were very cute. “They couldn’t believe that this had been done to me.”
She then claimed that her skull is now “permanently damaged by that weave.”
