ANTF Kashmir seizes large quantity of poppy seeds, accused in Budgam operation

In an important development in the ongoing battle against drug trafficking, anti-task force (ANTF), Kashmir has successfully retrieved sufficient amounts of illegal contradiction, which leads to its commitment to eradicate the threat of drug from the Center area.

A police spokesperson said that while working on specific intelligence inputs, a dedicated team of ATLF carried out a careful planned operation at Wahabpora, District Budgam, recovering huge amounts of poppy straws (locally known as Phuki). Contraband was hidden with the intention of avoiding the search, but the fast and professional reaction of ANTF personnel ensured its seizure.

The accused, who was identified as the son of Farooq Ahmed Teli of Mohammad Subhan of Suranhal Batpora, was arrested and taken into custody on the spot. Accordingly, a case under the sections of the NDPS Act was registered in Antaf Kashmir, and further investigation has been done to detect backward and further linkage of the drug supply chain.

This seizure highlights the constant efforts of the task force of anti-nashed substances involved in illegal drug trade and the network. Operation underlines the zero-oppression policy of Jammu and Kashmir Police towards crimes related to intoxicants.
