Jaipur, Nov 6 (IANS) Senior Congress leader Sachin Pilot said all major development work in Anta was done during the tenure of the Congress government, stressing that the party has always given priority to the progress of the region.
Addressing an election rally in support of Congress candidate Pramod Jain Bhaiya, Pilot said the BJP MLA here was disqualified not by the Congress but by the honorable court, which found him ineligible to serve as an assembly member.
“The by-election is the result of that court’s decision,” he said.
He said that the Anta by-election is not just a matter of one seat, but a referendum on the functioning of the BJP government for two years.
“The public is assessing how the BJP has ruled Rajasthan in these two years. The government has gone back on its promises and betrayed the trust of the people,” Pilot said.
The Congress leader also pointed to the internal discord within the BJP, saying it was clearly visible during the ticket distribution.
He commented, “The BJP is grappling with internal divisions in both its government and organization.”
Pilot expressed confidence that the Congress party will win the Anta by-election with an overwhelming majority and said that people of all 36 communities are standing with the Congress.
He said, “Government machinery is being fully utilized in this election, but the public is with us. I am confident that the voters will bless Pramod Jain Bhaiya and send him to the Assembly. His victory will echo across the country.”
Extending his remarks to national politics, Pilot said that the Grand Alliance is ready for a decisive victory in Bihar.
“People want change there too. The so-called ‘double engine’ model has completely failed in Bihar and the public is ready to end the 20-year-old system,” he said.
Pilot finally appealed to the voters to support the Congress candidate for continued development and transparent governance.
