A terrifying sight of leopards has once again emerged in Bhadaiya village of Lakhimpur Kheri in Uttar Pradesh. Here, a leopard attacked 50-year-old farmer Prabhu Dayal, resulting in his death. The farmer was working in the sugarcane fields near his village Shahpur Raja when the incident occurred. The area is close to the Bela Pahada protected forest.
According to the agency, South Kerry Forestry Officer (DFO) Sanjay Biswal confirmed the incident. At first, the villagers suspected that a tiger had attacked the farmers, but later discovered from the pug marks that the attacker was a leopard. The forest department is keeping a close watch on the area following the incident. Villagers were reminded to stay in groups and avoid areas where wild animals roam.

DFO Biswal said this is the third such case in the district. Earlier on August 27, a tiger attacked farmer Ambrish Kumar, resulting in his death. After that, on September 11, the tiger turned around and attacked Zakir in Mudaas village, and Zakir died as a result.
Bhadaiyya village is about 20-25 kilometers away from Imalia village and Muda Asi village. After earlier attacks in these villages, the forest department deployed staff and was busy searching for the tigers. Biswal told reporters that a tranquilizer team has been sent to the area to capture the wild animals.
After the attack, villagers living around the site were frightened. Forest department officials have been issuing alerts to villagers. Officials said people working in areas near forests should take special care to avoid any untoward incident. After Prabhu Dayal’s death, the forest department has stepped up security and patrols in the affected areas.
