New Delhi:

Days after notorious criminals Sandeep Kala Jathedi and Anuradha Madam Minz got married in the capital, another gangster Yogesh Yogesh Dahiya alias Tunda tied the knot under police surveillance at a temple in west Delhi’s Vikaspuri area on Friday.

Tunda, a native of Sonipat in Haryana, was granted parole for six hours between 12 noon and 6 pm by the Delhi High Court for her marriage.

As one of the key henchmen of the Gogi gang, Tunda was allegedly involved in the murder of gang member Sunil Maan alias Tillu Tajpuria in Tihar jail in May 2023, where the former is currently lodged.

Tunda was allegedly involved in more than a dozen cases of murder, attempted murder, robbery and extortion in Delhi. He is also facing an MCOCA (Maharashtra Control of Organized Crime Act) case against him by the Delhi Police Special Cell.

Sandeep (alias Kara Jadhedi), an associate of jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, was married to Anuradha Chaudhary (alias Ms. Mintz), who had a criminal record The wedding took place on March 12 during the deployment of the police force. He was also given six hours of probation. The wedding was held at the banquet hall in Dwarka Sector 3, Delhi.

Tunda’s wedding took place at the Arya Samaj temple in Vikaspuri in the presence of police.

“Police personnel were deployed in and around the temple. Some officials were also deployed on roads and flyovers,” an official said.

The officer said special team and crime branch officers were also present to prevent any gang-related violence or the possibility of his escape.

At noon, Tunda was taken to the temple in a jail van under the protection of the Third Battalion of Delhi Police. The official said the bride was waiting for him at the temple.

According to Tongda’s lawyer, the bride and groom were allowed eight guests each – all of whom were allowed into the temple after verifying their IDs.

Later, ‘Jamala’ and other marriage rituals were held at the temple, the official said.

The official added that Tunda and his girlfriend, a South Delhi resident, had been in a relationship for the past nine years.

According to police, Tonda is one of the main members of Gogi’s gang.

Jatinder Mann alias Gogi was killed in Rohini court in September 2021 by members of the rival Tillu Tajpuria gang.

Tunda and three others reportedly stabbed Tillu Tajpuriya about 100 times in Tihar jail last May to avenge Gogi’s death.

Officials say the rivalry between the Gogi and Tiru gangs has left more than a dozen people on both sides dead. They said Tongda was suspected of involvement in multiple murders since 2015.

Another police officer said that during an alleged attack by Thiru’s gang in December 2021, Thongda lost feeling in one of his hands, earning him the nickname “Thongda” (the one with crooked hands).

After the wedding on Friday, he was escorted back to Tihar in a jail van, the officer added.
