‘Another grand Sheesh Mahal’: BJP criticizes Arvind Kejriwal over misuse of Punjab funds for ‘luxurious 7-star’ mansion

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has launched a fresh attack on Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal, accusing him of misusing Punjab government resources for another ‘Sheesh Mahal’. The controversy revolves around the alleged allotment of a ‘luxurious 7-star, two-acre government bungalow’ in Sector 2, Chandigarh, by the Bhagwant Mann-led Punjab government.

Taking to X, Delhi BJP posted the satellite image of the said bungalow and accused the former CM of preparing a ‘luxurious 7-star, two-acre government bungalow’. BJP termed Kejriwal as ‘Super CM’ of Punjab and said that he has built another grand ‘Castle of glass‘In Punjab, after evacuating one in Delhi.

Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal also took a dig at the controversy by sharing a photo of the bungalow and alleging that Kejriwal used a government plane for the travel.

He wrote, “After the Sheesh Mahal in Delhi became vacant, Arvind Kejriwal ji has built a more magnificent Sheesh Mahal in Punjab than the one in Delhi. In Sector 2, Chandigarh, a luxurious 7-star government mansion of 2 acres has been allotted to Arvind Kejriwal ji under the CM quota.”

Maliwal claimed that Kejriwal boarded a government helicopter from his home to Ambala and then flew to Gujarat in a private jet for party work, adding that “the entire Punjab government is engaged in the service of one man”.

The BJP has been criticizing Kejriwal’s ‘common man’ image and accusing him of hiding his luxurious lifestyle.

Earlier, he had faced criticism from the saffron party over alleged extravagant renovation at his official residence at 6 Flagstaff Road in Delhi, which the opposition had named ‘Sheesh Mahal’.

In the video released earlier, the BJP, while giving a tour of the luxurious bungalow on Flagstaff Road, had alleged, “This ‘special’ common man has built this glass palace by looting the hard-earned money of the people of Delhi!”

In another post, the party shared a rap song ‘Dilli Ka Crorepati’ and wrote, ‘Keju is Delhi’s Crorepati!’
