Renovation plan has been announced Andy Murrayof luxury Scottish hotels including new restaurants and improved visitor access.
twice Wimbledon champion Andy Murray He and his wife Kim bought Cromlix House, worth £1.8 million, more than 12 years ago and converted it into a five-star hotel near his hometown DunblaneStirlingshire.
The tennis champion is currently overseeing the construction of two new restaurants on the estate.
Cromlix will close in the first half of this year as the hotel’s 60-room main restaurant will be glass-walled and feature a state-of-the-art kitchen.

The restaurant will sit alongside the original brick wall on the main lawn, overlooking the estate’s gardens. The menu will feature locally sourced produce, much of which is grown in the hotel’s kitchen garden.
A second, more intimate restaurant is also in the works, aiming to offer fine dining. The hotel’s existing restaurant, The Glasshouse, will become a dedicated afternoon tea and event space.

“I’m very excited about this next phase for Cromlix,” said Kim Murray.
“Our current restaurant, The Glasshouse, has been doing well and is fully booked most of the time, but the space lacks a bit of personality and isn’t as aesthetically pleasing as the rest of the hotel.”
The hotel will also add three new suites and a wellness cabin.
The application submitted to the local council also revealed plans to improve visitor access.
A statement from Cromlix Architects said the estate has two entrances to the current car park. The renovations will include relocating existing door jambs to widen the entrance.

“This will provide improved routes for buses and larger vehicles, reducing the potential risk of collision or pillar damage,” the application said. the times.
“The columns are listed as Category C Residential and form part of the House Hotel listed mansion. By repositioning them along the passage to provide a wider entrance, the clear width between them will be increased.”
Cromlix underwent a complete transformation in 2023 after Murray took the hotel back to manage it itself. Improvements include a complete overhaul of the hotel’s bedrooms, bathrooms and public areas.
After the next round of renovations, the hotel is scheduled to reopen on May 15, 2026.
