While brands continue to push the Android 14 update to their phones, Google has already prepared Android 15, which is available as a developer preview for people to start testing before the actual deal launches later this year. Android is constantly building new privacy tools and features designed to get the most out of the software and improve the performance of phones and other devices. The latest Android version is available to developers, which means regular users may find it difficult to install the Android version and it is recommended to avoid installing it on your primary phone.

Android 15 Developer Preview: Which phones are supported

As you probably know, Google launched the first version of its Pixel devices, and this time is no exception.

– Pixel 6

-Pixel 6 Pro

– Pixel 6a

– Pixel 7

-Pixel 7 Pro

– Pixel 7a

– Pixel 8

-Pixel 8 Pro

– Pixel Tablet

– Pixel folding

The Android 15 Developer Preview is not available via software update so you have to install a system image which can be a complicated process for regular users so we recommend them to wait for the Android 15 Beta program to get the OTA version so that they can try Android 15.

Android 15 Developer Preview: What’s new in 2024

Android 15 will see big changes in how users are targeted with ads, thanks to the Privacy Sandbox we recently mentioned. Google guarantees the data will be anonymous, which should allow people to see ads based on their activity.

Android 15 will provide new health features through the Connect API to track exercise, sleep, heart rate, and more. The new version also allows you to share the window of a selected application while screen recording instead of showing the entire screen. The camera also gets some new built-in features and controls for brightening photos, which is crucial for Google Pixel devices. Finally, the Android 15 release can help manage hot workloads on cores and only use performance cores when really needed.

Android 15 beta is scheduled to roll out in the coming months, but the actual launch is expected to be around October 2024 when Google launches the new Pixel 9 series, with other companies launching later.
