Amarvati, 23 September (IANS) In Andhra Pradesh Legislative Council, YSR Congress Party on Tuesday raised the issue of dues of fee reimbursement and demanded immediate release of the TDP -led coalition government.
YSRCP MLCs transferred a adjournment motion to discuss the issue, but to the Chairman. Moshenu Raju rejected.
The House saw the exchange of words between Education Minister Nara Lokesh and the leader of opposition boats Satyanarayana.
The YSRCP leader took exception to some words used by Lokesh and emphasized a debate. Lokesh, claiming that he fought him that the previous YSRCP government had kept the outstanding dues of Rs 4,000 crore.
Lokesh told YSRCP that the outstanding was pending since Kovid. He commented that YSRCP, after keeping such a large amount pending, pursues a stay speed on the issue, is ridiculous.
The minister also reminded Bota Satyanarayana that when he was the Education Minister, the outstanding amount was imposed.
Saying that Rs 1,200 crore was released after the coalition government came to power, Lokesh told the House that the remaining dues would be approved in three months.
Lokesh spoke on the issue to detail the arrears during the YSRCP rule, even reminded him that the stay motion on the issue was rejected.
The minister said that the government was ready for a debate on the issue, provided it was raised in a proper format.
Lokesh wanted to know why YSRCP did not raise the issue during the Business Advisory Committee (BAC) meeting to include it in the agenda for the ongoing session. He alleged that since the YSRCP government had failed to clean the arrears, the party did not want discussion.
Bots Satyyaran called Lokesh’s Rs 4,000 crore claim “away from the truth” during the YSRCP rule. He said that non-relaxation of pending arrears was affecting the education of thousands of students.
During the question hour, Lokesh told the council that the coalition government is implementing the ‘Talli Ki Vandanam’ scheme despite the number of children. He said that every mother was being provided Rs 15,000 annually for the education of each child.
Members of YSRCP tried to corner the government on the number of beneficiaries under the scheme. He claimed that many beneficiaries were not getting financial assistance.
However, Lokesh alleged that the previous YSRCP government did not implement the ‘Amma Vodi’ scheme properly, but under the coalition government, all the beneficiaries have been covered by ‘Talli Ki Vandanam’.
YSRCP MLCs said that the coalition government copied its plan ‘Amma Vodi’, but only 54 lakh students were covered under the scheme, while it promised to cover 67 lakh students.
Lokesh answered questions on strengthening our library ecosystem across Andhra Pradesh. He announced that a world -class state library would be built at Amravati at a cost of Rs 150 crore. The library will be completed in 24 months.
Lokesh said that the Mangalgiri model library will now be inaugurated in its final stages, in October. We will set up equal libraries in all 175 assembly constituencies. “In parallel, we are accelerating digital libraries to promote new book purchase, community reading programs and a vibrant reading culture,” he said.
