Amaravati, Nov 11 (IANS) Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister has again called for setting up a board to protect Sanatan Dharma.
Saying that Sanatan Dharma is one of the oldest and continuously evolving civilizations, he said that now the time has come to establish the Sanatan Dharma Preservation Board with the consent of all stakeholders.
The Jana Sena leader reiterated his call reacting to reports by the Supreme Court-appointed Special Investigation Team that an Uttarakhand-based dairy, which never bought even a drop of milk or butter, managed to supply 68 lakh kilograms of ghee. Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) to get Rs 250 crore between 2019 and 2024. The CBI-led SIT found this while investigating alleged adulteration of ghee used to make Tirupati laddus.
“For the global Hindu community, Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams is much more than a pilgrimage site; it is a sacred spiritual sojourn. Tirupati Laddu is not just a sweet; it is a shared emotion – we distribute it among friends, family and strangers alike, because it is a symbol of our collective faith and deep faith. On an average, about 2.5 crore devotees visit Tirumala every year. And when the sentiments and practices of the Sanatanis are mocked When they are ignored or underestimated, it is not only harmful; it shatters the trust and devotion of millions of people around the world,” Pawan Kalyan posted on ‘X’.
The actor-politician said, “Secularism should be a two-way street. The safety and respect of our faith cannot be compromised. Our Sanatan Dharma is one of the oldest and continuously evolving civilizations and now the time has come for us to establish the Sanatan Dharma Preservation Board with the consent of all stakeholders.”
In another post, he said that the massive administrative failure and unethical actions of the previous TTD Board caused deep, unforgivable injury and destroyed the sanctity of Tirumala, adding that this painful breach of trust should be a deep lesson for the present TTD Board, which should continuously work and strive to restore the sanctity of Tirumala and regain the trust of millions of devotees.
“To everyone who manages and operates TTD – from the Board, bureaucrats, EOs and JEOs to employees, contractors and vendors – your role is not just a designation or title, but a sacred opportunity to render divine service to millions of Sanatanis. I urge TTD to make every detail publicly available by ensuring complete transparency in all activities – from financial statements, quality control and audits to asset and donation management.”
He further said, “Establishing the Sanatan Dharma Preservation Board is a step towards the future, but the responsibility of protecting the Dharma and standing up for it is the collective responsibility of every single Sanatani, and I sincerely hope that one day all our temples across the country will be managed by the community – by the devotees themselves – it is our duty.”
Responding to Pawan Kalyan’s tweet, YSR Congress Party leader and former minister Ambati Rambabu commented that the great ‘Sanatani warrior’ Pawan Kalyan finally came out of his hibernation to dance to the campaign drum of Chandrababu Naidu.
“Where was this bigoted ‘defender of faith’ when 6 devotees died in a stampede in Tirupati? Where was his divine wrath when 7 people lost their lives in Simhachalam? Where was the great warrior of religion when 9 innocent people died in Kasibugga?” Rambabu asked while questioning Pawan Kalyan’s silence on the incidents of stampede in temples.
“Not a single meeting, not a single word, not even a token acknowledgment. He did not meet the bereaved families, did not express condolences, and did not show the minimum humanity expected of a public leader. And when 189,000 kg of cow meat was seized from the cold storage of TDP leader Subrahmanya Gupta in Visakhapatnam, the self-proclaimed Sanatani disappeared again. No outrage. No condemnation. Silence and hypocrisy,” The YSRCP leader said.
“But today, before YSRCP’s November 12 rallies against the privatization of medical colleges, Pawan suddenly gets up, goes to X, and repeats Naidu’s defamatory script. This is not religion. This is desperate political puppetry,” said Rambabu.
