Amravati/Patna, Nov 9 (IANS) Andhra Pradesh Human Resource Development and Information Technology Minister Nara Lokesh on Sunday appealed to the people of Bihar to give another mandate to the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) and said only a double-engine government can ensure continued development of the state.

On the last day of campaigning for the second phase of assembly elections in Bihar, the general secretary of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) addressed a press conference in Patna.

He told the voters that at a time when development is taking place in Bihar, changing the government will derail the process. He told them that the YSR Congress Party came to power in Andhra Pradesh by appealing to the people to give them a chance. He alleged that after YSRCP came to power, many industries left the state.

He said, “We should understand that we have a double engine government, which is very important for Bihar. Prime Minister Modi and CM Nitish Kumar can work together to fulfill the vision of Bihar. The plane is on the runway, and it is time to take off. This is not the time to stop. I appeal to Bihar to give us a fifth term and together we will develop the state properly.”

Saying that there was ‘jungle raj’ in Bihar before Nitish Kumar became the chief minister, he said Bihar was progressing rapidly thanks to the double engine government. He said, “I spoke to industrialists in Patna. They are happy with the development work here and government policies. Bihar has allocated the highest amount of money in the Union Budget. After Bihar, Andhra Pradesh has got the highest allocation. This was possible because of the NDA rule in both the states.”

He said, “There is a need to ensure NDA’s victory in Bihar for three reasons. Track record of leadership, double engine government and continuity of governments.”

Lokesh said that Bihar’s role is very important in achieving the goals of developed India. He once again appealed to the youth of Bihar to ensure the victory of NDA for the all-round development of Bihar.

Lokesh also met Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan in Patna. The TDP leader posted on Twitter that Pradhan is working tirelessly for NDA’s victory in Bihar.

Lokesh said that Pradhan played an important role in BJP’s victory in Haryana and Odisha elections. He said, “On this occasion, I congratulated Mr. Pradhan for the constructive efforts being made to bring the NDA government back to power in Bihar. I expressed confidence that the NDA government will come to power in Bihar again.”

Earlier, Lokesh met representatives of Bihar Industries Association and Chamber of Commerce in Patna. He said, “The country will achieve development only when the states are strong. The people of the country have chosen the right leader as Prime Minister at the right time. As a result, India has achieved unprecedented development in the last decade.”
